Guest Lecturer in Religion at The University of Tampa, Florida

I am excited to share that I will be a guest lecturer on March 20th at the University of Tampa.

The sociology department at the University of Tampa launched a new course called, "Witches, Atheists, Satanists: The Decline of Religion in America."

The curriculum includes the book "Losing Our Religion" which reports on a study on the increasing number of Americans who identify as Nones (no religious affiliation).

The class also reflects critically on the three dimensions of religiosity: Belief, Behavior, and Belonging (community, collective identity).

I was told that “Unitarian Universalism has come up more than once since some Nones are drawn to organizations that are inclusive and accepting.”

I have been asked to give a guest lecture on Unitarian Universalism and my own journey in ministry as a UU.

The professor for this course said, “they're curious about what the church stands for and what it is like.”

I’m looking forward to sharing a bit about the UU faith to these curious young adults.

I’m also very curious about what questions they might ask!

This lecture is only for students of the university, but I will let you know how it goes!

P.S.

Invite me to speak, preach, teach a class, or moderate a panel or fireside chat! I'd love to provide your congregation with sabbatical coverage. Let's be in touch!
