This morning I spent Juneteenth celebrating at theย African American Civil War Museumย in Washington DC. This celebration began with a program that included a ritual reading of the names of the African Americans who fought in the Civil War.

For this sacred event, I was invited to say a โ€œPrayer for Juneteenth & the Cityโ€ and participate in the โ€œReading of the Names.โ€

Then we were given a very special tour of the African American Civil War Memorial Museum. The tour was special because the museum is not completely open to the public yet.
